Dear Mike KB5KST,

I don’t have an amplifier and am not planning to get one. Consequently, I am unfamiliar with what a Variac even is. Goggle tells me it is a variable transformer. Good to know, but not real useful to me right now.

Sincerely,

Harold

Harold, I was the one who posted the WANT for the Variac.  It lets you vary the AC input to a linear or anything else for that matter.

Dear Gary K5JWK,

My error. Sorry. Yeah, I picked up on the varying AC when I went to Google. I am sufficiently unfamiliar with linear amplifiers to know what you would want to vary the AC input to one. I would have thought you could vary the amount of amplification by use of the controls on the linear amplifier. Not a real issue for me at this time.

Best wishes on turning up a variac.

Sincerely,

Harold
