Locked Silent Key - KC0ZDB

Bill Craft

Dick Scheit, KC0ZDB  went Silent Key in April- I had heard someone mention that he went Silent Key when I was at radio Fiesta- but I didn't know for sure if it was true. So today I called his phone number, it's disconnected. So, I checked ARRL - listing still there. So, a search with his name found his obituary in Iowa City newspaper. He was a member and active on our Tech Talk Wednesdays and he gave a couple presentation on his weather station and operations from his RV in Seguin. He was a "Snow Bird", here in the winter and back in his home in South Dakota.

Anyone interested you can plant a tree in his honor.

Thanks Bill.
So sad to hear this.
We're losing way to many "Good ole boys" who really understood what ham radio is all about.
Our condolences.
I'll visit the link and thank you for posting it.

Dick passed away from long term complications with Covid that he had fought off last year.  He was a very active member of the Hill Country REACT Team and has been missed greatly by our members.

That is sad news. I actually bought an Alpha Delta antenna off him and he gave me a tour of his ham shack (RV) a few days before he left.

Dick was a great guy.  He truly lived and loved life.  He was always square dancing somewhere in the country.  I knew him well and he will be missed.
