Morning All! Hill Country REACT and other regional club/organizations
will be assisting with the AERC Heart of the Hills Endurance Ride the
weekend of February 28th and March 1st. The activity involves remote
setup of VHF and Packet equipment to monitor the course, safety, search
and rescue and track participants. Each days activities start at 0730 hrs and typically stand down around 1530 hrs depending on the operators station being manned. Meals are provided for all volunteers.
The
remote environment with little to no commercial systems provides a
great opportunity to test field deployment gear for emergency/disaster
deployments. This years activities do utilize RMS Express and a RMS
Packet/RMS Relay type system.
We also have a need for non-license operators to assist as spotters and recorders.
