JC, thank you very much. As always, you are so kind and helpful. I know that I want one, but I will probably give you a call to bring my Spiderbeam pole, and check the fit. I am looking at drills tonight on Amazon.
I hope you will have a nice Sunday.

Greg,
Thank you for the guidance to use the wood first, and the offer to share your welding skills with my materials.

I would try the suggested wood version 1st. It should fit your needs. If you decide that a steel version is what you really want. I have stick, Mig and Tig welders. All you need supply is your plans and supplies.

Hello everyone.
I have decided that "I need" a Drive-On mount for my Spiderbeam pole. I found a few options online, but one was out of stock, one had a delivery of Christmas, and one would be shipped from the UK. I read reviews of these options. A couple of reviews struck
me; (1) the metal plate was not solid enough. It was flexible, and while this would work for a flag on race day, it would not be adequate for an EFHW and a 10MPH wind, and (2) the threading that screwed into the floor flange failed after a few uses.
I wrote to one of the hams to ask for his guidance. He said that it is easy enough to construct if you know how to weld or have access to a local welder. He gave me this design:
A piece of 3/16" or 1/4" steel plate about 6" x 18".
Weld or bolt a pipe floor flange for the size of pipe you want to use. Then screw a piece of pipe into the flange. If the steel plate is problematic, use a wood 2x8 and attach floor flange to that.
I do not know a welder, so I looked online for local welders that would do very small jobs. I found a couple, but they are M-F, 9am - 5pm, shops. I'm not able to get to them during those hours.
I'm hoping that someone here would have some guidance for me.
