Locked Need Microsoft Access 2007...
jpboyes@...
All, I am trying to convert some older ham radio-related database files, and am in need of Microsoft Access 2007...all I need to do is open the database files I have, then save them in the newer format. After that, I'll be able to open them with the newest version of Access. So, if you still happen to have Access 2007 installed, can I visit you for an hour or so? Failing that, if you have that version on a CD, can I install it, use it for an hour, then uninstall? This is only legal if you aren't using it for that hour. (I don't think that will be an issue; I just wanted everyone to rest assured there is nothing illegal, immoral, or unethical going on here.) 73, Jeff Boyes, ND8B |

Dear Jeff ND8B,
I checked my computer configuration tracking files.
I had Microsoft Access 2003 at one time. When I upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, I retained Access 2003 and Publisher 2003 on my computer. My next major upgrade to Microsoft Office was to Microsoft Office 365 a few years ago probably 2010 or 2013. This package included Access which is now on Access 2016.
I know that I had old files from Access 2003 that I have successfully opened and updated with Access 2016. In fact, I open and update .mdb files even now in Access 2016 which is a pre-Access 2007 file format. From what I understand, Access 2016, 2013, 2010, and 2007 all use the .accdb file format as there preferred file and can convert .mdb files to that format. See https://support.office.com/en-us/article/convert-a-database-to-the-accdb-file-format-098ddd31-5f84-4e89-8f44-db0cf7c11acd
I hope this helps.
