Assistance in Signing Up for ARES and/or FEMA Courses---This Saturday, May 13th

All San Antonio Radio Club members, as well as other radio amateurs,
are encouraged to join the Bexar County Amateur Radio Emergency
Service. See their website here: http://www.bexarcountyares.org/.
ARES is open to any licensed Amateur Radio Operator who has an
interest in providing emergency communications. Membership in SARC
or the ARRL is not required. Bexar County ARES is primary contact
for amateur radio services for all Served Agencies. See the list of
Served Agencies on their website.

Joining Bexar County ARES consists of joining their Yahoo Group,
being granted access to that group (in less that 24 hours, sometimes
sooner), and then entering your contact information into their
database.

I will be at the SARC station at KCOMM from 12:00pm until 2:00pm
tomorrow, May 13th, to assist anyone who needs a little help getting
their information into the database.

During this time I can also help you sign up for on line FEMA
courses which are highly desirable for anyone working through ARES
or with any Served Agency.
